Every martial arts school has a story. Ours starts in 1966 — the year the program behind our Karate / Taekwondo curriculum was founded — and has been rooted in Matawan since 1998. That makes us one of the oldest and most decorated martial arts schools in New Jersey.
Lineage matters in martial arts because it is how quality is preserved. Techniques, standards and teaching methods are handed from instructor to student, refined over decades. Our curriculum blends the most effective Karate and Taekwondo techniques from various stand-up arts with the discipline, customs and mindset of traditional karate — and it has been constantly refined for more than half a century.
That lineage shows in the teaching roster: a 9th Dan and an 8th Dan lead the karate program alongside our owner, a USMC veteran and 7th Dan, while our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is headed by 5th-degree black belt Professor Josimar Junior and 3rd-degree black belt Professor Talita Bernardo.
For over 25 years in Matawan, the goal has stayed the same: build martial artists, not just fighters — with respect, discipline, honor and integrity in every student.
